  1. you said that instead of using shortening i could use butter so that means i have to use 60 ml and 57 gram of butter in the vanilla cream?

  2. it is a fat that is solid at room temperature. usually vegetable based, but by definition, can be animal fat such as lard. it is used in baking primarily to create a flaky product such as pie crust.
