Ingredients: Cake batter: 1 cup brown sugar (200 grams) 1 stick butter (113 grams) 2 cups all purpose flour (285 grams) 1/2 cup cocoa powder (43 grams) 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon table salt 1 egg (room temperature) 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup buttermilk (240 ml) Filling: 1 and 1/4 cups powdered sugar (140 grams) 1 and 1/2 sticks butter (160 grams) 1 and 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 2 and 1/2 cups marshmallow cream (380 grams) pinch of salt This makes two trays of the little cakes or 6 whoopie pies. I baked them for 15 minutes @ 350F I recommend that you place your filling on 6 of the halves before placing the other half on, so that you distribute the filling equally.
