Red Velvet Whoopie Pies Recipe Demonstration – Joyofbaking.com

Recipe here: www.joyofbaking.com Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make Red Velvet Whoopie Pies. We knew it would happen. With the widespread popularity of the Red Velvet Cake and the recent revival of the Whoopie Pie, it was inevitable that the two would join to give us the Red Velvet Whoopie Pie. And there is no denying how good these look and taste. Each cookie takes two round, domed shaped chocolate cookies, that have a cake-like texture, and sandwiches them together with a soft and tangy cream cheese filling. The contrast of a red cookie with a white filling is both a visual and tasty delight. I like to finish their look with a few squiggles of white frosting on the tops of each Red Velvet Whoopie Pie.   1. Ever since I started watching dessert videos I realized just why it’s so easy to gain weight… e_e;;

  2. I doubt Miss Stephanie would take offense. She is a professional and everything she makes is done with time and perfection. She wants her audience to make things they are proud of and things our guests will really appreciate.

  3. If you want to make something similar to buttermilk add two teaspoons of vinegar for every eight ounces

  4. Do it! Maybe being so young and working your own cooking videos will help get viewers. Besides, you are never too young to start something productive.

  5. Or instead of vinegar you can try lemon juice. I tried both but I liked it better (lemon) than vinegar. Somehow it changed the taste (the vinegar) of the cookies & the taste of the cookies weren’t as soft as with the lemon on the milk (for buttermilk). But you should try both, maybe it doesn’t make a difference on taste for you. Also, in my experience baking cookies, unsalted butter tends to make them fluffy which is better for this recipe. I’ve tried salted butter & my cookies end up crispier.

  6. or you can add some (a little bit) of vinegar to regular milk. That turns it into buttermilk.

  7. I’m thinking of starting a cooking channel because I absolutely love baking. But I’m a bit nervous about how to film the video’s and how peopl will react to the video’s. I’m 12 years old by the way so if anyone has any advice can you contact me on either Youtube or twitter @Hope_Cooke Thank you.

  8. It tastes great. Not too sour, not too sweet. Just the way i like it. I changed the recipe a bit by using fresh squeezed, half lime half lemon juice. Pie itself has consistency and looks of a cheesecake but with a nice subtle lime aroma. Don’t make the lower part too thin, it needs to absorb the moisture from the milk (I used 2x the ingredients for the crust).
    That was the first thing i baked using Howcast recipe and i regret nothing! 😀
