Bûche de Noël- Yule Log Cake

(Sorry, this is re-uploaded. I was having troubles with the music licensing) Yes, yes, I know the video is long, but that’s because it’s a baking video!!! So this is my first time making this and it surprisingly turned out well. I found the recipe from: joyofbaking.com I changed a couple of measurements, but nothing too drastic. You can also decorate it with meringue mushrooms… the oven was being used so I couldn’t make any 🙁 Yule Log Recipe: 1/4 cup (50 grams) plus 2 tablespoons (28 grams) granulated white sugar 6 large eggs, separated 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 4 ounces (112 grams) bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped in small pieces 3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar Chocolate Whipped Cream: 1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (contains 35-40% butterfat) 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 3 tablespoon (40 grams) granulated white sugar 1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder Chocolate Buttercream Frosting: 2/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa 1 cup butter or margarine, softened 2 cups powdered sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water Yule Log: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) and place the oven rack in the center of the oven. Butter, or spray with a non stick vegetable spray, a 17 x 12 inch (43×30 cm) baking pan. Line the pan with parchment paper and then butter and flour the parchment paper. While the eggs are still cold, separate the eggs, placing the whites in one bowl and the yolks in another. Cover and bring to room

  2. I just made this, and failed miserably. Too much chocolate, too much frosting, and the sponge turned out too soggy. Plus, in the end it looked like a deflated cake 🙁 My fault, as i didnt follow the ingredient amounts, hehe.

  3. My husband’s family is coming over for Christmas this Christmas. Was in a panic state, but this video has def removed that. Im so making this, seems simple and sweet :]

  5. Mmm…that look so delicios! The greenery you used as decoration are Buxus sempervirens (Boxwood) and Thuja occidentalis (Northern Whitecedar).

  6. Why oh why do you have a French cake now? It’s May lady? Omg…I know it’s “Xmas everyday” but …nice recipe! 😉

  7. Don’t worry. You make a video whenever you feel like to. Whenever you have enough time. Your subscribers will not leave. So merry Christmas! (in advance)
